In our first meeting, we will discuss the reasons that bring you to my office at this time. We will try a first understanding and acquaintance with what concerns you in order to shape the way we can work together.
At the end of the first meeting, we will talk about the terms that govern the psychotherapeutic process. These terms constitute the therapeutic contract and aim at the maximum efficiency of the procedure and the protection of both its members.
If we decide to start, we are both committed to keeping our contract.
The treatment contract consists of:
1. The space
The place where the sessions take place is only my office, located in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, at 7B Ethnikis Antistaseos Street.
2. Time, frequency and duration
Sessions are held on a weekly basis and last 45 minutes. Whenever possible you should have all four of these components in place for launch to maximize profits. It is important to come to the office on time as we have scheduled as in case of delay the time is not extended beyond the scheduled.
3. Cancellations
In case you want to cancel a session you need to notify me up to 24 hours before our scheduled session, otherwise the missed session will be charged, unless something significant unexpected happened that was impossible to schedule. In case I need to cancel, I will inform as soon as possible. I will also inform you in time about the planned vacation time.
4. Confidentiality and secrecy
Our meetings and the treatment process are protected by the principle of confidentiality and psychotherapeutic secrecy, which I have a moral and legal obligation to follow and not to share information that you bring to the treatment and what happens during the session, with no one.
There are exceptions to this rule and these apply to the following cases:
- When there is an immediate threat to your safety,
- When there is an immediate threat to the lives of others,
- When there is abuse of children or the elderly, and
- When there is domestic violence.
